Resurrection impact

The resurrection of Jesus was real, powerful and life changing, you only have to look at his followers! They were a strange bunch, much like you and I. They followed him, served alongside him, they doubted him, they denied him and deserted him, and then…. then they encountered him, not a ghost, not a figment of their imagination or the result of taking drugs. He was alive again, well and truly alive! There were nail prints in his hands, and he ate real food, he walked and talked with them. He was well and truly back from the dead, he was with them again, who’d thought it, certainly not them.

Following the crucifixion they had given up, as far as they were concerned it was all over, and they were preparing to go there separate ways, then… then, they met Him. This encounter transformed their lives and after the Spirit had come upon them they were unstoppable. They couldn’t help but proclaim all that they had seen and heard and experienced. This was Good News. Old Adam had been undone, and humanity reconciled and restored to God in Christ. Once again it was possible for humanity to dwell within the circle of Divine love, the fullness of the love of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

All that is required is for us to repent and believe the Good News. Grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, the Author and Finisher of our faith!
