Running the Race

Continuing the Olympic theme, Paul writing to the Galatians says “you did run well… who has hindered you…”

There are many today who started well, but today they’ve dropped out of the race, or at best are struggling to keep going.

For some it’s legalism – a decent into a life of rules and regulations, performing up to God.

For others it’s the love of this world – it all looks so much better and tempting, the pleasures, materialism etc..

For still others someone’s cut in on them, crossed their path, and they’ve become offended.

Still others have been scandelised.

For others it’s sin.

What about you, are you still in the race, and if so are you running well?

One things for sure, the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end, they are new every morning because he is faithful.

Yes the devil will tell you ‘that’s it, God’s given up on you, it’s over, there’s no way back, no hope.’

But that is a blatant lie. God loves you just like he always has, and he’s ready to forgive, clean you up and set you on your feet again!

The answer will not be found in looking at yourself (that’s the enemies trick – look within, pull yourself together, self-help) but away unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith who for the joy of possessing you and me endured the cross and despised it’s shame, and is today sat down at the right hand of God – heavens and our Champion!
